Nubble Light

Sometimes I wake up and decide I'm taking a roadtrip. That what happened just after the first of the year. I had been meaning to go to Nuble Light, also called Cape Neddick Lighthouse, in York, Maine and get some pictures with the Christmas lights still lit. So I packed up the photo gear around noon and headed off to the ocean. I arrived a little after 2PM and just sat in my warm truck, remembering that I didn't bring my handwarmers. I watched countless people pull up, get out of their vehicles, snap a couple of quick pics, jump back in their vehicles and drive away. I finally got brave and went outside. I took a bunch of photos from different angles and went back into the truck to warm up. I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally it started to get dark and the Christmas lights were shining brightly. I braved the cold again and took a lot more photos. They turned out pretty good, but I like this shot better. I was talking to a guy who was also taking pictures and he told me I got there just in time to see the Christmas lights because they were supposed to be shut off the next day.
