Tucker Brook cascade
I was up and out the door by 5am to meet up with the "New Hampshire Waterfall Gang" at 6am at Tucker Brook Town Forest in New Hampshire. I did this in spite of the fact that it was raining out. I figured I'd stop at Dunkin Donuts for breakfast but even the donut maker wasn't up this early...at all 3 of the locations that I passed. So my morning wasn't starting out too good. I knew I'd be getting wet and I'm hungry. I got to the parking lot at 6am and was immediately swarmed by mosquitoes. They apparently don't mind the rain. I doused mysel
White Mountains foliage
If "leaf peeping" was an Olympic sport, the White Mountains of New Hampshire would have to host the event each time. People travel from all over the world each fall to drive and hike around the Whites to check out the amazing color display. If you happen to hit the foliage at it's peak, you'll be left in awe and wanting more.

Sunset on Gilson Pond
As far as I know, Gilson Pond isn't famous. But it's neighbor is one of the most climbed mountains in the world. Gilson Pond sits at the base of Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. The sky looked like it might create some dramatic light toward sunset so I headed up to the mountain to find a good location for some photos. I thought of the pond with the sun setting behind it and trecked through the snow and ice to the shore. The clouds didn't disappoint. The light show was dramatic as the sun dropped in the sky. This is a combination of 3 photos layered to bring out the details on the ice while maintaining the contrasting colors of the sky and sun.

Nubble Light
Sometimes I wake up and decide I'm taking a roadtrip. That what happened just after the first of the year. I had been meaning to go to Nuble Light, also called Cape Neddick Lighthouse, in York, Maine and get some pictures with the Christmas lights still lit. So I packed up the photo gear around noon and headed off to the ocean. I arrived a little after 2PM and just sat in my warm truck, remembering that I didn't bring my handwarmers. I watched countless people pull up, get out of their vehicles, snap a couple of quick pics, jump back in their veh
Mount Rundle sunrise
You know it's love when your brand new spouse, who isn't an early riser, agrees to get up with you while you take photos of a sunrise. We were on our honeymoon in Banff, Alberta, Canada when we drove to the Vermilion Lakes early one evening. I looked at my wife and said "this would be a great spot to get a sunrise photo." She agreed that we'd get up early the next morning to check out the sunrise over Mount Rundle. We got up and drove to the location I had picked out the night before. My wife was a trooper...for all of about 2 minutes.
Motiff #1
Nothing says Rockport, MA like Motiff #1. This little red fishing shack has probably been photographed, painted and sketched more than any fishing shack in the world. It's red color is set off by the multi-colored "lobstah" buoys that adorn the siding.

Gloucester Sunrise
I had Good Friday off from work and decided it would be a good time to try and get a photo of the full moon coming up over the Atlantic Ocean. I made reservations for a hotel right on the beach in Gloucester, MA with a view of the ocean. I had grand plans for being on the beach with a bright orange moon coming up but mother nature had different plans. The wind was gusting 50+ mph and kicking up sand all over the place. Luckily the room had a balcony and I got a few shots of the moon before giving up to watch some March Madness games. The wind was so loud t
Gay Head Light and cliffs
Gay Head Light and the surrounds cliffs is probably the most famous scenic view on all of Martha's Vineyard.
